Job Description
Provides advisory, administrative and managerial support to MONUSCO’s Mission Chief of Staff, helping the office implement its mandate and manage high-level engagements. The post prepares analytical reporting and briefings, tracks political developments, coordinates mission components, and uses integrated reporting and data-analysis tools to inform policy options, planning and decision-making.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support the Chief of Staff in implementing MONUSCO’s mandate and following up matters requiring personal attention
- Organize office meetings and mission events and coordinate follow-up actions
- Draft and review situation reports, briefing notes, talking points, cables and official correspondence
- Analyze political developments and emerging mandate issues and recommend policy options
- Maintain collaborative relationships with mission components on coordination and policy matters
- Use SAGE, CPAS and data visualization to support planning and reporting
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in political science, international relations, public international law or a related field; a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in political affairs, diplomacy, conflict resolution or a related field, including one year in a senior official’s front office in a UN field operation or comparable IGO
- Extensive experience in political outreach, facilitation, analysis, advice and reporting
- Experience drafting analytical reports, background notes, cables and speeches for senior officials
- Experience coordinating civilian, force and UN agencies and managing high-level visits
- English and French are required
