Responsibilities

  • Analyse political developments and prepare advice and recommendations for senior officials
  • Communicate senior decisions to regional desks and monitor implementation
  • Maintain contacts with governments, UN entities and international organisations
  • Prepare high-level meetings, political briefings and diplomatic correspondence
  • Draft workplans, project proposals, budgets and implementation reports

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in a relevant field, or first degree with two additional years of experience
  • At least five years of relevant political affairs, security, development or conflict-resolution experience
  • Experience in conflict prevention, mediation, preventive diplomacy and peacekeeping
  • Experience drafting sensitive political analysis and diplomatic correspondence
  • Fluency in English
