Responsibilities
- Maintain a full-time working presence within the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management
- Coordinate daily with ministries and national and local stakeholders on disaster-risk priorities
- Advise the ministry on disaster risk reduction and early-action policy and implementation
- Support stronger national preparedness systems and coordinated response capacity
- Apply knowledge of Syrian institutional architecture and policy frameworks to implementation challenges
- Strengthen UNICEF engagement with the ministry through responsive context-sensitive technical support
Requirements
- Masters degree or equivalent in public administration, social policy, international relations, environmental studies, international development or another relevant technical field
- At least five years of professional experience in disaster risk reduction, early action, Syrian public policy, government structures, governance, donor relations, advocacy or a related area
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English
- Syrian nationality
