Security Officer

Provides security risk management, operational coordination and advisory support for UNOPS programmes in Pakistan. The role develops mitigation plans, manages incident readiness, trains personnel and coordinates with UNDSS and national authorities to protect people, assets and operations.

Department: South Asia Multi-Country Office

• Conduct security risk assessments and prepare mitigation plans
• Integrate security requirements into project planning and implementation
• Develop and review security, residential and contingency plans
• Coordinate incident response and information sharing with UNDSS and authorities
• Oversee mission security, clearances, incident reporting and emergency communications
• Deliver security induction, awareness and preparedness training
• Manage security records, equipment, budgets and compliance monitoring
• Guide security personnel and support professional development

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with two years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree in any discipline with no prior experience
• Relevant experience in security management, law enforcement, military service or a related area
• Experience in security risk assessment, crisis management and coordination with UNDSS or UN field security structures
• Understanding of police and law-enforcement processes in Pakistan
• Experience using collaboration and productivity tools and web-based management systems
• Fluency in English
