Security Officer

Supports daily security operations for WFP programmes across Bangladesh by monitoring threats, maintaining emergency readiness and ensuring compliance with UN security measures. The role briefs personnel, manages security resources and coordinates with UNDSS, field offices and partners during routine operations and crises.

Department: Security Unit

• Develop and test security contingency, emergency-response and business-continuity arrangements
• Coordinate with UNDSS and participate in security-management meetings
• Monitor compliance with Security Risk Management Measures across offices
• Oversee facility access controls protecting personnel, visitors and assets
• Manage security budgets, procurement plans and equipment accountability
• Analyse security developments and report emerging risks
• Prepare incident reports and brief senior management
• Deliver security orientations, training and emergency operational support

• Advanced university degree in security management, international relations, law enforcement, political science, humanitarian development or a related field
• At least five years of overall experience, including three years of professional or supervisory security-management experience and one year after postgraduate study
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Bengali
• Bangladeshi nationality

• Twelve-month fixed-term appointment
• Frequent field visits are required
