Overview
Leads NATO ACT’s AI Capability Development and Governance Section, translating data and AI strategy into policy, standards, capabilities and assurance. The role manages a specialist team and resources, advises senior leaders, coordinates Alliance stakeholders and advances responsible AI and digital transformation.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the AI Capability Development and Governance Section
- Translate NATO data and AI strategies into implementation plans and governance frameworks
- Develop policies and standards for data management, algorithm safety, security and assurance
- Analyse regulatory change and advise leaders on AI policy and technical feasibility
- Coordinate policy input across NATO headquarters, military authorities and strategic commands
- Manage section resources, objectives, performance indicators and continuous improvement
- Support development and initial implementation of data science and AI capabilities
- Produce policy papers, dashboards and reports for senior decision-making
Requirements
- Relevant university degree with six years of post-related experience, or higher secondary education and advanced vocational training with six years of post-related and two years of function-related experience
- Six years of experience applying and managing digital technologies in defence, security or international organisations
- Experience creating and executing strategic plans and overseeing performance
- Expertise developing policies, standards and guidelines for data science and AI
- Experience with modern software architecture and development practices for data science and integration
- Understanding of military capability development
- English at NATO SLP 3333
- Ability to obtain NATO SECRET clearance before employment
