Responsibilities

  • Lead WIPO Japan Office programmes, operations and service delivery
  • Develop work plans and budgets aligned with WIPO results frameworks
  • Build high-level cooperation with the Government of Japan
  • Manage Japan Funds-in-Trust activities and related partnerships
  • Develop strategic networks with intellectual-property stakeholders
  • Represent WIPO at conferences, seminars and training sessions
  • Allocate resources and manage performance, risks and key indicators
  • Coordinate engagement with UN agencies and WIPO headquarters units

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in a relevant discipline or a first degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least fifteen years of intellectual-property experience
  • At least six years of senior-management experience
  • Experience promoting intellectual-property services through cooperation and networks
  • Experience with at least one international intellectual-property system
  • Experience working in an international setting
  • Excellent knowledge of English
  • Excellent knowledge of Japanese
