Risk Communication and Community Engagement Consultant: Ebola Response

Delivers Ebola risk communication and community engagement in displacement sites, host communities and border health points in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, combining public sensitisation, data collection, community meetings and partner coordination to strengthen outbreak response.

Department: Migration Health Department

• Conduct household visits and community dialogues in displacement sites, host communities and border health points
• Inform displaced people, host communities and travellers about Ebola signs, prevention and stigma
• Distribute information materials adapted to local languages
• Support awareness activities and project data collection with authorities, providers and community representatives
• Organise and lead community meetings and sensitisation activities
• Maintain working relationships with local actors and field partners
• Engage women’s groups, youth associations, religious leaders and traditional healers in response activities

• University degree in medical sciences, social sciences, communications or a related field with at least two years of relevant professional experience
• At least one year of community-activity experience in humanitarian or epidemic settings
• Demonstrated knowledge of local languages
• Good written and spoken French

• Field-based consultancy supporting the Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
• Consultants must maintain medical insurance for non-occupational illness or accidents
• Appointment is subject to funding confirmation and required clearances
