Principal Technician (ICT System)

Supports NCIA ICT service transformation by maintaining and repairing static and deployable ICT systems, configuring software and systems, supporting networks and leading technical warehouse support activities.

Department: NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA)

• Perform software configuration, system software, network support and systems installation or removal duties
• Support static and deployable ICT system repair and maintenance services
• Contribute to ICT hardware asset-management services for NATO operations, exercises and training
• Support stock management, procurement, delivery, receipt and through-life management of ICT hardware items
• Configure hardware and software on enterprise servers and client baselines
• Use troubleshooting techniques and complex test equipment for ICT systems and database administration
• Lead, supervise, motivate or direct a technical team of technicians

• Higher vocational training in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, electronics, electrical engineering or a relevant discipline with three years of post-related experience, or secondary education with five years of post-related experience within the past ten years
• Proven experience configuring hardware and software on enterprise servers and client baselines
• Ability to work independently to solve problems
• Deep understanding of ICT systems, database administration and troubleshooting using complex test equipment
• At least two years of experience leading, supervising, motivating or directing a technical team of technicians
• Fluency in written and spoken English

• Salary: EUR 5,968.29 monthly
• Contract duration: five years
