Information Systems Officer

Provides technical support for ASYCUDA customs systems to the National Customs Services and National Project Teams in Zimbabwe. Manages systems analysis, development and implementation projects, maintains proprietary ASYCUDA programs, and trains customs staff on assigned systems and disaster recovery planning.

Department: ASYCUDA Programme, Division on Technology and Logistics

• Manage projects involving feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development and implementation of moderately complex ASYCUDA systems
• Develop detailed system and technical specifications and user documentation for ASYCUDA systems
• Provide specialized advice to National Customs Services and National Project Teams, translating user requirements into new applications
• Maintain, upgrade and enhance existing ASYCUDA user systems, troubleshoot and provide continuing user support
• Develop and maintain ASYCUDA proprietary programs such as Single Window, ensuring data security and access controls
• Organise and perform unit and integrated testing and assist users in acceptance testing
• Develop customs training materials and train staff in assigned systems
• Develop disaster recovery plans and ensure appropriate planning and training

• Advanced university degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or related field, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems, including customs and international trade digitalization
• English required

• Temporary job opening for nine months; selection is for a limited period and has no bearing on future incumbency
