Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of secure, scalable and resilient digital infrastructure
  • Provide technical leadership for systems design, integration, build, automation and continuous improvement
  • Advise leadership and stakeholders on infrastructure design, standards, architecture and technology choices
  • Ensure coherence between in-house and industry-delivered services for security, integration and resilience
  • Support definition, refinement and validation of technical requirements
  • Contribute to procurement, statements of work, technical bid evaluation and contract supervision
  • Mentor technical staff and promote design best practice
  • Represent the infrastructure team in internal and external technical forums

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related discipline with five years of role-related experience, or bachelor's degree with eight years of role-related experience
  • At least five years of extensive practical experience managing design and implementation of networks, hosting and platform systems, storage systems, data centres and cloud services
  • Experience leading an interdisciplinary team, preferably in an international environment
  • Practical experience developing and applying architecture, design standards, policies and technical guidance
  • Experience supporting complex infrastructure programmes, stakeholder engagement and technical decision-making
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • Duty station is temporarily Braine l'Alleud pending completion of the new SHAPE facility, with future duty stations shifting to Brussels or Mons depending on function and business needs
