Overview

Provides policy and planning support for Kiribati’s national food-systems pathway. The specialist leads needs, institutional and governance analysis, develops a 2026–2030 stakeholder action plan, prepares dialogue materials and supports government and partner validation of final outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Review national food-systems policies, legislation, strategies and dialogue outcomes
  • Prepare an inception report, methodology, workplan and consultation schedule
  • Conduct policy, institutional and governance analysis for the needs assessment
  • Draft the National Food Systems Needs Assessment and 2026–2030 Stakeholders’ Action Plan
  • Prepare briefing materials and present findings at the National Food Systems Dialogue
  • Coordinate stakeholder validation and incorporate feedback
  • Prepare the assignment completion report and respond to technical review

Requirements

  • University degree in public policy, agriculture, agricultural economics, development studies, food systems, economics, environmental management or a related field
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience
  • Working knowledge of English at level C
  • Kiribati nationality or residence with a valid work permit
