Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of FAO projects and programmes in Tonga
  • Advise government counterparts on agriculture and food-systems policy
  • Develop project proposals and support national resource mobilisation
  • Monitor programme delivery, workplans, compliance and corrective actions
  • Maintain country data on agriculture, fisheries, forestry and external aid
  • Build partnerships with donors, civil society, academia and business
  • Supervise and train programme staff

Requirements

  • Tongan nationality
  • Advanced relevant university degree with three years of experience, or first-level degree with five years
  • Relevant experience in food and agriculture programming or project implementation
  • Working knowledge at Level C of English and Tongan
