Job Description
Provides technical and coordination support to strengthen implementation of Uganda's Tobacco Control Act and regulations. The consultant coordinates enforcement, capacity building, farmer-transition, laboratory and monitoring activities with government, WHO and development partners.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate tobacco-control priorities and report progress to WHO country, regional and headquarters teams
- Build enforcement-officer capacity and monitor district action plans
- Coordinate the Tobacco-Free Farms initiative with ministries, farmer groups and development partners
- Support laboratory studies, product regulation and joint compliance inspections
- Monitor industry interference and tobacco-related media activity
- Lead public-awareness activities and tobacco-control review meetings
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in Public Health or a related field
- At least five years of health programme-management experience
- Knowledge of WHO FCTC and MPOWER
- Experience working with government institutions and development partners
- Expert knowledge of spoken and written English
