Summary of Responsibilities
- Audit the legal framework and draft the revised national avian-influenza plan
- Facilitate SENASA technical discussions on command structures and animal-health priorities
- Integrate official observations and define emergency-management indicators
- Develop One Health protocols linking animal, human and environmental health authorities
- Lead multisectoral validation with industry and environmental stakeholders
- Design and direct a mandatory field simulation involving epidemiology and quarantine teams
- Correct operational gaps identified through the simulation
- Deliver the final plan with updated annexes
Role Requirements
- Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine, public health, microbiology or a related field with postgraduate study in Epidemiology
- At least 5 years of proven experience designing contingency plans for transboundary diseases and poultry health management
- Experience in at least two countries or regional contexts
- Documented knowledge of animal-health regulations and OMSA technical standards
- Native or advanced professional Spanish proficiency
Desired Criteria
- Experience in Latin America and the Caribbean designing transboundary animal-disease contingency plans
- Experience designing, conducting and evaluating animal-health emergency simulations
- Experience updating national veterinary-health regulatory instruments
