Job Description

IOM seeks a protection consultant for Colombia’s earthquake response to deliver individual case management and institutional coordination. The role will identify vulnerable people, assess protection risks, establish care plans and referrals, track follow-up and document trends, helping ensure safe and dignified humanitarian assistance for children, women and other people with specific needs.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead the Africa regional disasters climate and crises department
  • Coordinate operations programmes and technical services
  • Drive regional crisis strategy with National Societies
  • Manage coordination of operations across the Africa region
  • Ensure high-quality locally anchored humanitarian programmes

Role Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in disaster and crisis management
  • Experience managing regional humanitarian operations
  • Experience with climate resilience and disaster-risk reduction

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in emergency or disaster responses
  • Experience with displaced, migrant or refugee populations
  • Knowledge of Colombian protection pathways
