Delivers clinical laboratory services for IOM migration health assessments in Nepal, performing diagnostic procedures, safeguarding biosafety and quality, maintaining equipment and stocks, managing records and data, and supporting continuous improvement of laboratory systems and patient services.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-examination, examination and post-examination laboratory procedures
  • Implement quality-management systems and serve as focal point for assigned quality essentials
  • Apply standard operating procedures, biosafety measures and quality-control processes
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and document quality-assurance results
  • Manage laboratory stocks and alert supervisors to equipment, supply or biosafety issues
  • Maintain records and data systems for results, monitoring, analysis and operational research
  • Develop and update laboratory standard operating procedures with the supervisor
  • Improve service delivery while protecting patient dignity and meeting client expectations

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or accredited diploma in medical laboratory sciences, microbiology or a related discipline
  • Valid professional practice licence
  • Three years of relevant clinical laboratory experience with a bachelor's degree, or five years with a diploma
  • Clinical laboratory techniques, quality-management and biosafety knowledge
  • Computer literacy for accurate data collection, analysis and laboratory-performance monitoring
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali

  • Advanced laboratory specialisation or proven laboratory expertise
