Summary of Responsibilities
- Manage the Internal Audit Office, its staff and work plans
- Maintain audit quality assurance processes aligned with IIA standards
- Lead the planning, delivery, reporting and follow-up of internal audits
- Direct assurance and advisory engagements on emerging risks and opportunities
- Present internal-audit reports to governing bodies and the Oversight Advisory Committee
- Advance IOS strategies, risk management, control and governance with UNESCO offices
- Deputize for the Director of Internal Oversight Services when requested
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in Auditing, Accountancy, Public Administration, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
- Valid CIA, CPA, CA or equivalent internationally recognised audit certification
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible audit experience, including 7 years in internal audit in an international context
- At least 3 years leading or co-leading an internal audit function
- Excellent written and oral knowledge of English or French, with very good knowledge of the other language
