GIS Developer / DBA

Consultancy based in Deqing, China, developing and maintaining enterprise geospatial applications and SQL databases for OICT, including requirements analysis, testing, documentation, user training, troubleshooting, data recovery and third-level technical support.

Department: Enterprise Solutions Service

• Develop, test, debug and implement geospatial and AI-enabled applications
• Prepare technical and user documentation and training materials
• Support deployed GIS systems, version management, data recovery and troubleshooting
• Manage and administer geospatial SQL databases
• Benchmark and propose new geospatial tools and libraries

• Advanced university degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or a related field, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of geospatial systems using ArcGIS
• At least 3 years of experience working on ETL for geospatial data
• At least 3 years of experience with SQL, geodatabases, geospatial data management and migration
• At least 2 years of experience using Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for GIS
• Experience with stored procedure optimisation and debugging
• Fluency in oral and written English
• Applicants must be authorised to work in the duty station

• Expected duration is 6 months renewable
• Consultant has 10 paid UN holidays per calendar year following the UN office calendar
