Evaluation Officer

FAO seeks an Evaluation Officer in Rome to design, manage and conduct evaluations of programmes, projects and thematic portfolios. The role leads multidisciplinary teams, applies rigorous qualitative and quantitative methods, quality-assures reports, advances evaluation tools, and promotes evidence use and learning.

• Design and conduct project, programme, thematic and geographic evaluations
• Compose and manage multidisciplinary evaluation teams
• Apply rigorous qualitative and quantitative methods to assess outcomes and impacts
• Prepare and quality-assure evaluation reports, briefs, papers and presentations
• Develop evaluation methodologies and reproducible analytical practices
• Collaborate across FAO and UN evaluation networks to promote evidence use

• Advanced degree focused on research and evaluation methods in a listed relevant discipline
• At least three years of relevant evaluation experience
• Working knowledge of English
• Intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language
• At least three peer-reviewed publications demonstrating relevant evaluation expertise
