Director General, Independent Accountability Mechanism

Reporting directly to the World Bank Group Boards, this vice-president-level director establishes and leads the new Independent Accountability Mechanism, integrating dispute resolution, compliance and advisory functions while protecting independence, complainants and institutional credibility.

• Establish and lead the new Independent Accountability Mechanism
• Oversee dispute resolution, compliance review and advisory functions
• Manage strategy, work programmes, budgets, staffing and performance indicators
• Protect complainants, confidentiality and safeguards against retaliation
• Engage Boards, management, communities and external stakeholders
• Lead transition from the predecessor accountability functions
• Represent the mechanism publicly while preserving its independence

• Capacity to serve as a full-time staff member at vice-president level
• Independence from World Bank Group management
• No subsequent World Bank Group employment after the appointment

• Five-year non-renewable appointment
