Overview

UNDP's home-based Investigations Specialist supports misconduct cases. The role reviews allegations, plans inquiries, interviews witnesses and subjects, collects and analyses evidence, maintains chain of custody, drafts investigation and closure reports, updates case files and liaises with legal counterparts.

Responsibilities

  • Assess allegations of fraud, corruption, harassment and other misconduct
  • Plan and conduct complex administrative investigations
  • Interview complainants, witnesses and subjects with due-process safeguards
  • Collect, preserve and analyse documentary, electronic and open-source evidence
  • Draft investigation plans, reports, closure reports and recommendations
  • Maintain investigation databases and confidential case files
  • Coordinate with legal, ethics, human-resources and law-enforcement counterparts

Requirements

  • Master's degree in investigations, law, fraud examination, accounting forensics or a related field, or bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least five years of relevant experience with a master's degree or seven years with a bachelor's degree
  • At least one year of international-investigation experience
  • Experience writing and editing investigation reports
  • Fluency in English
