Development Coordination Officer, Crisis Management

Provides rapid strategic and operational support to Resident Coordinator Offices and UN Country Teams facing crises. The roving role strengthens inter-agency planning, partnerships, resource mobilisation, common operations, knowledge management and crisis reporting across regional or global deployments.

• Guide Resident Coordinators and UN Country Teams on CCA and UNSDCF strategy in crisis contexts
• Coordinate joint programming, monitoring, evaluation and country results reporting
• Build external partnerships and oversee joint resource-mobilisation strategies and pooled funds
• Advance common operations, premises, back offices and business-continuity arrangements
• Lead knowledge sharing, capacity development and crisis communications support
• Consolidate and quality-assure crisis reporting for regional and corporate decisions
• Manage Resident Coordinator Office programmes, resources, personnel and administrative approvals
• Deploy rapidly to crisis-affected Resident Coordinator Offices and perform Head of Office functions when required

• Advanced university degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Economics, Management or Political Science, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, sustainable development policy, programme or project management and development-cooperation coordination
• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in knowledge management and reporting on development-policy implementation
• English at United Nations Level II

• The role requires frequent deployments of up to three months and travel on as little as five days’ notice
• Temporary appointment available until 31 December 2026
