Deputy Representative (Programmes)

Leads UNICEF Iran’s programme strategy and continuity in a complex humanitarian and development context. The role steers preparedness, response and recovery, assures programme quality and conflict sensitivity, and integrates humanitarian, development and peacebuilding approaches with partners.

• Lead country programme planning and development
• Steer emergency preparedness, programme response and recovery
• Ensure compliance with humanitarian Core Commitments for Children
• Embed conflict sensitivity across programme interventions
• Integrate humanitarian, development and peacebuilding approaches
• Support the Representative in managing the country office
• Oversee programme monitoring and quality control
• Build alliances, coordinate with the UN system and develop private-sector partnerships

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, government and public relations, public or social policy, sociology, social or community development or a related field
• For eligible internal staff only, a relevant bachelor’s degree with two additional years of experience may replace the advanced degree
• At least eight years of international professional development experience combining technical and managerial leadership, including experience in a developing country
• Fluency in English
