Overview

Collect and validate mobility data for IOM Kyrgyzstan through key-informant interviews, observation and follow-up across the country. The volunteer prepares field plans, protects confidentiality and consent, records daily work, uploads accurate surveys to Kobo and reports field findings and challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Interview community leaders, service providers, diaspora representatives and returned migrants
  • Check interview data for accuracy and completeness and conduct direct observation
  • Conduct follow-up interviews and take consented photographs
  • Prepare fieldwork plans, schedules and target locations
  • Protect respondent privacy, informed consent and data security
  • Coordinate daily activities with field supervisors and community focal points
  • Cross-check information and maintain daily interview records
  • Upload completed surveys to Kobo and submit a narrative report

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or higher in sociology, economics or a related field
  • At least one year of community or household assessment and survey experience
  • Knowledge of migration and development
  • Kyrgyz and Russian
