Job Description
Supports UNODC’s Regional Office for Central America and the Caribbean to counter the financial and digital dimensions of migrant smuggling. The National Programme Officer coordinates activities in Panama, Costa Rica and Colombia; delivers cyber-investigation and digital-forensics training; advises justice officials on electronic evidence; coordinates law-enforcement, government, technology.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate project activities equipment procurement service providers and reporting in Panama Costa Rica and Colombia
- Deliver cyber-investigation digital-forensics and cryptocurrency training for justice-sector counterparts
- Advise law-enforcement prosecutors and judges on seizure and handling of electronic devices
- Coordinate government law-enforcement private-sector academic civil-society and UN stakeholders
- Monitor implementation collect data draft reports and follow up actions
- Liaise with internet providers regulators virtual-asset providers and justice institutions
- Support regional communications and donor visibility actions
- Analyze trends and patterns and prepare data-visualization insights
- Maintain coordination with global cybercrime and migrant-smuggling teams
Role Requirements
- Degree in information technology computer science digital forensics cybersecurity law international relations security studies social sciences or related field
- At least seven years in law-enforcement or prosecution investigation related to cybercrime cybersecurity electronic evidence Open-Source Intelligence or cryptocurrency tracking
- Spanish proficiency
- Cybercrime investigation electronic-evidence cryptocurrency digital-forensics or cybersecurity expertise
Desired Criteria
- Cyber-enabled trafficking-in-persons or migrant-smuggling investigation experience
- Cybercrime capacity-building or technical-assistance delivery
- Project coordination or management experience
- UN or comparable international-organization experience
