Computational Linguist

Manages NATO linguistic data and language-technology systems, adapting machine translation with multilingual content, administering and backing up CAT and neural tools, automating server tasks, guiding acquisitions and budgets, maintaining procedures and access controls, and training staff in the use of AI-enabled services.

• Adapt AI-based machine translation systems with relevant multilingual data
• Coordinate design, administration, maintenance and backup of language-technology platforms
• Resolve translation-server issues and automate technical tasks
• Manage acquisition, testing, implementation and budgeting for linguistic tools
• Maintain procedures, access controls and training for linguistic data and services

• University-level translation training or a relevant degree with proven translation capability
• At least three years of experience administering database-supported tools, processes and content
• Experience implementing AI-based machine translation in a language department
• Advanced proficiency in English and French
• Nationality of a NATO member country
