Responsibilities

  • Manage official travel services in line with organisational objectives and rules
  • Administer travel entitlements, visas and United Nations travel documents
  • Supervise travel processing and manage the travel-services contractor
  • Coordinate participating agencies and travel-payment contractors
  • Negotiate travel arrangements and support airline discount discussions
  • Research travel technologies and market developments for operational use
  • Assist personnel travelling in difficult, high-profile or unusual circumstances
  • Create and verify travel fund commitments and expenditure reports in Umoja

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a technical or vocational diploma or certificate in business administration, travel or a related field
  • At least ten years of relevant administration, budget or finance experience in United Nations international travel management, reduced to five years for candidates with a first university degree
  • English and Spanish at United Nations Level III in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Applicants for Field Service positions cannot be nationals of the duty-station country
