Responsibilities
- Design control and acquisition architectures for magnet test benches
- Develop and integrate C++, Python and LabVIEW applications
- Implement CERN FESA and CMW equipment-control interfaces
- Integrate instrumentation, timing, interlocks and protection hardware
- Operate and troubleshoot cryogenic and high-current test systems
- Support quench detection, transient measurement and safe acquisition
- Coordinate with magnet, powering, cryogenics and controls teams
- Maintain GitLab workflows, automated tests and technical documentation
Requirements
- Master’s degree, PhD or equivalent relevant experience in computer science, software engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, applied physics or a related field
- Proven C++ and Python development experience for data acquisition, automation, testing, analysis or controls
- Experience developing software for hardware control and data acquisition
- Understanding of electronics, instrumentation and superconducting-magnet or cryogenic testing
- Spoken and written English
- Nationality of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- No previous CERN staff contract
- Medical clearance for occupational hazards
