Technical Studentship - Material & Surface Science 2027-1New

Students gain supervised practical experience in material and surface science at CERN, supporting material and coating analysis, testing and characterisation. The studentship combines hands-on technical activities with learning alongside engineers and scientists in an international research environment.

• Assist engineers, technicians and scientists in material and surface science work
• Contribute to material and coating analysis, testing and characterisation projects
• Undertake supervised day-to-day technical activities
• Collaborate and exchange ideas with an international multidisciplinary team

• Currently studying in the stated field or a related discipline
• Required or encouraged by the university to complete a practical training period
• Completed at least 18 months of studies at the time of selection
• National of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
• Remain enrolled as a full-time student during the studentship
