Senior Programme Associate (Migration, Environment and Climate Change)

Leads projects at the intersection of migration, environment and climate change, coordinating implementation, budgets, partners and capacity building. The role analyses policy developments, supervises staff and converts lessons from field delivery into procedures, concepts and new programme initiatives.

Department: Migration Solutions Unit

• Lead implementation of migration, environment and climate-change projects
• Monitor delivery against plans and recommend adjustments to field conditions
• Analyse policy, legislation and developments relevant to climate mobility
• Monitor expenditures and maintain approved project budgets and revisions
• Coordinate financial, administrative and technical delivery under IOM and donor requirements
• Plan and conduct capacity-building workshops for internal and external partners
• Maintain liaison with authorities, donors, UN agencies and civil-society partners
• Prepare reports, document lessons, develop procedures and supervise reporting staff

• School diploma with seven years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree in environmental and climate-change studies, political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field with five years of relevant experience
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, international institutions, UN agencies and non-governmental organisations
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced people, trafficking victims or other vulnerable groups
• Fluency in written and spoken English, Tajik and Russian

• Appointment is subject to funding confirmation
• Recommended candidates may remain eligible for similar posts for 24 months
• Appointment requires medical fitness, accreditation and applicable residency, visa and security clearances
