Overview
Leads the United Nations country team in Jordan and represents the Secretary-General. The Resident Coordinator sets collective development strategy, advances the Sustainable Development Goals, coordinates system-wide and humanitarian support, mobilises partnerships and oversees the Resident Coordinator Office.

Responsibilities
- Represent the United Nations with government and national partners
- Lead preparation and delivery of the United Nations Cooperation Framework
- Coordinate system-wide analysis, prevention and support to national priorities
- Promote human rights, gender equality and the commitment to leave no one behind
- Build strategic partnerships with civil society, business, academia and development partners
- Mobilise financing and oversee system-wide country funding instruments
- Coordinate humanitarian response and link humanitarian and development programming
- Manage and provide strategic oversight to the Resident Coordinator Office
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in development studies, international relations, political science, economics, social sciences, human rights, law or a closely related field, with a relevant first degree and experience accepted for otherwise qualified candidates
- At least fifteen years of substantive international leadership experience
- At least five cumulative years of country-level work outside the candidate’s own country in development, human rights, rule of law, peacebuilding or humanitarian action
- Membership in the Resident Coordinator Pool
- Fluency in English at UN Level III
