Peace and Development Analyst

Supports the UN Resident Coordinator in Malawi with conflict and governance analysis, early-warning monitoring and analytical briefs while implementing peacebuilding initiatives, mapping partners, engaging government and civil society, and ensuring youth networks and perspectives shape dialogue and UN programming.

Department: Malawi Resident Coordinator’s Office

• Research conflict dynamics, governance and socio-political developments
• Monitor and report conflict early-warning signals
• Draft analytical briefs, reports and background notes
• Apply conflict-sensitive approaches across UN initiatives
• Support peacebuilding and conflict-prevention programme delivery
• Engage government, civil-society and UN partners
• Map stakeholders and gather information for programme decisions
• Facilitate youth consultations and document lessons from youth engagement

• Foundational knowledge or demonstrated interest in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, governance or sustainable development
• Ability to draft analytical reports, briefs, speeches and concept notes
• Research, data-collection and analytical skills
• English proficiency
