Youth, Peace and Security Officer

Advances the Youth, Peace and Security agenda across West Africa and the Sahel by developing projects from youth recommendations, maintaining regional networks and data, assessing national progress, organising forums, supporting resource mobilisation, managing social channels and publishing regional stories and newsletters.

Department: Gender and Youth Unit

• Develop and implement projects based on regional youth recommendations
• Prepare a youth and youth-organisation database for publication
• Survey and report national implementation of the Youth, Peace and Security agenda
• Collect regional stories demonstrating youth peacebuilding action
• Organise regional youth forums and workshops
• Support youth organisations with resource mobilisation
• Maintain relationships with youth networks and regional partners
• Manage social channels and publish quarterly regional youth newsletters

• Excellent written and oral English and French
• Knowledge or experience in youth, peace and security and women, peace and security
• Ability to translate data into strategic reports

• UN Volunteer associate assignment for 365 days
