Develops geomorphology-based risk classification and remote-sensing products for glacial lake outburst flood monitoring, supporting aerial surveys, hazard maps and geospatial handover to MoES.

Responsibilities
- Audit existing MoES GIS layers, lake inventory and risk-scoring algorithms
- Develop geomorphological indicators and classification protocols for GLOF risk
- Screen priority lakes using satellite data and prepare aerial-survey packages
- Support aerial survey planning, photo cataloguing and GIS database integration
- Produce technical and community hazard maps from hydrodynamic model outputs
- Prepare final GIS reports and hand over geospatial datasets, code and documentation
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in geography, geoinformatics, engineering geology, geomorphology or a closely related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis and remote sensing applied to mountain hazards
- Experience with geomorphological characterisation of moraine-dammed lakes and dam-stability indicators
- Proficiency in QGIS, ArcGIS, SNAP, Google Earth Engine and Python or R
- Working knowledge of optical and SAR satellite data and DEM products
- Fluency in Russian and good working knowledge of English
