Movement Operations Assistant, Field Support

Supports safe migrant movements through Algiers airports, transit facilities and transport routes by verifying travellers and documents, coordinating baggage and service providers, assisting vulnerable people, maintaining secure movement data and applying protection and conduct standards throughout journeys.

Department: Movement Operations

• Provide field support at airports, transit centres, camps and transport points
• Verify traveller identities, visas, tickets, exit permissions and travel documents
• Assist with check-in, baggage, immigration, security, customs and boarding procedures
• Coordinate ground transport, service providers, traveller readiness and briefings
• Support vulnerable travellers and people with special needs safely and impartially
• Maintain accurate movement data and protect confidential paperwork
• Provide interpretation, selection-mission and exit-permit support when assigned
• Report operational issues and travel for movement activities as required

• Bachelor degree in social science, international relations, regional studies or a related field with two years of experience, or high-school diploma with four years of experience
• At least two years of relevant professional experience
• Fluency in English
• Fluency in French
• Computer literacy with good Microsoft Office knowledge

• Field-support role may include shifts of up to twelve hours, overnight duties and weekends
• The selection may fill similar positions at other duty stations for up to twenty-four months
