Local Mobiliser

Supports a UN-Habitat urban development programme in Rio de Janeiro's favelas by promoting community participation and engagement. Coordinates meetings, workshops and social participation spaces, communicates project information to residents and ensures technical activities meet quality expectations, reporting monthly on activities.

• Promote the participation and engagement of people living in the community
• Support the organisation of meetings, workshops and assemblies for social participation
• Communicate project information clearly and efficiently to the community
• Promote community participation in decision-making and project implementation
• Publicise the programme within the communities
• Attend project meetings and participate in local meetings as requested
• Ensure technical activities align with the quality expectations of the Agency
• Prepare and deliver a monthly activity report

• Secondary school education or two additional years of relevant technical experience
• Minimum three years of experience in community engagement or data collection
• Experience in data collection in public projects or vulnerable communities in Rio de Janeiro
• Good computer skills in Windows and Office packages required
• Fluency in Portuguese required

• Contract duration two months, remunerated at SB-2/3 UNDP Brazil salary scale as a monthly allowance
• Only nationals of Brazil or holders of a permanent Brazil visa may apply
• Travel within the country required as requested, coordinated and financed by UN-Habitat
