Legal and policy internship with the Secretariats of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions

UNEP's conventions secretariat seeks a legal and policy intern in Geneva to support implementation of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions. The intern will conduct legal research, draft documents and training materials, and assist governing-body meetings, compliance work and legal capacity building.

Department: Governance Branch, Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions Secretariat

• Conduct legal research and analysis on chemicals and waste conventions
• Draft letters, presentations, training materials and other legal documents
• Support preparation and follow-up for governing and subsidiary body meetings
• Assist compliance committees and specific submissions
• Support legal technical assistance and capacity-building activities
• Contribute to publications, outreach and national legal-framework work

• Enrolled in or completed a postgraduate programme at master's level or higher
• Field of study closely related to the internship
• Fluency in spoken and written English
