Provides legal research, analysis and drafting for administrative, corporate and institutional matters affecting UNV and its personnel. The role supports litigation, disciplinary and recourse cases, policy interpretation, knowledge management and advice on volunteer conditions of service.

Responsibilities
- Research administrative, corporate and institutional law issues and summarise applicable rules, policies and jurisprudence
- Draft legal notes, memoranda, tribunal submissions and responses to administrative appeals
- Support disciplinary, misconduct, mediation and internal recourse case preparation
- Review policies, procedures and guidance for legal consistency
- Advise on volunteer conditions of service, benefits, entitlements and institutional arrangements
- Maintain case precedents, templates, legal tools and knowledge materials
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Law or an LL.M., or a relevant bachelor’s degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least two years of relevant legal experience with a master’s degree, or four years with a bachelor’s degree
- Experience applying legal rules and policies to factual scenarios and drafting legal documents
- Familiarity with the United Nations legal framework, privileges and immunities
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Eligibility as a Tier 0 UNDP, UNCDF or UNV candidate
