Summary of Responsibilities
- Compile and systematise evidence on women’s representation in priority parliaments
- Analyse parliamentary rules, institutions and governance measures supporting substantive parity
- Assess mechanisms to prevent and address violence against women in politics
- Develop recommendations and action lines for stronger parliamentary responses
- Prepare technical and knowledge products for assistance, advocacy and capacity building
- Support exchanges, dialogue and dissemination with parliaments and strategic actors
- Review substantive documents, presentations and reports for regional and country initiatives
- Submit monthly progress reports and coordinate regularly with the supervisor
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law, political science, international relations, human rights or development studies
- Master’s degree in social sciences, political science or gender-equality-related studies, or two additional years of experience
- At least 18 months of work on programmes promoting women’s political rights, leadership or participation in decision-making
- Experience in women’s political leadership in Latin America and the Caribbean, including work with parliaments, public institutions, regional bodies or strategic actors
- Experience in gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls
- Spanish and English
Desired Criteria
- Experience working in the United Nations system

- Travel is not initially planned but may be arranged if required
