IMEO Product Owner, Science Projects

Owns delivery of IMEO methane-data products by translating scientific outputs into reliable digital services. The consultant defines strategy and milestones, manages the backlog, coordinates science and digital teams, establishes agile routines, assures data quality and reports product status.

Department: International Methane Emissions Observatory

• Map current and planned methane-data products
• Define product strategy, delivery plans and milestones
• Translate product vision between scientific and digital teams
• Manage and prioritise the operational product backlog
• Establish sprint planning, refinement, review and retrospective routines
• Coordinate handovers from analytical datasets to digital products
• Assure quality during data-to-digital conversion
• Identify delivery risks and report product status for donors and work plans

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, business administration, information systems, STEM or a related field
• At least five years of relevant experience
• Product ownership or project-management experience in an Agile or Scrum environment
• Experience coordinating technical and non-technical teams
• Ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams and translate across science, data and digital domains
• Fluency in written and spoken English

• Twelve-month remote consultancy coordinated with the UNEP Paris Office
• Outputs require UNEP acceptance to be considered satisfactory
