ICT Officer

Delivers geospatial intelligence and advanced geo-analytics for UN field missions and headquarters, combining imagery, spatial data science and quality-assured workflows.

Department: Global Portfolios Office

• Deliver geospatial intelligence products and operational geo-analytics for UN decision-making
• Conduct event-based geospatial analysis before and after conflict and humanitarian incidents
• Analyse imagery impacts on populated areas, infrastructure, IDP camps and transport networks
• Combine satellite imagery, UAV data, open-source reporting and authoritative datasets
• Conduct spatial, temporal, terrain, change detection and hotspot analyses
• Build spatiotemporal models to monitor conflict dynamics and displacement
• Develop automated geospatial pipelines and feature extraction workflows
• Produce maps, annotated imagery, dashboards and analytical reports
• Apply validation and quality assurance procedures to geospatial products

• Advanced university degree in remote sensing, GIS, geography, geology or a related field, or first-level university degree with two years of experience
• Proficiency in Python scripting for geospatial analytics, data processing and workflow automation
• Relevant experience in remote sensing, imagery analysis, GIS or geospatial analysis
• Knowledge of ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine or comparable geospatial and image analysis software
• Experience in imagery intelligence, preferably in a military or humanitarian context
• Professional experience with GeoAI techniques applied to geospatial or Earth observation data
• Fluency in English

• Duration is open-ended subject to organisational requirements, funding availability and satisfactory performance
• Supports UNGSC geospatial services for field missions globally
