Overview

Strengthens gender mainstreaming in Afghanistan’s basic human needs programmes by preparing and delivering training for UN personnel and implementing partners. The consultant evaluates learning, contextualises materials and advises stakeholders on gender-responsive planning and monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a workplan for gender-mainstreaming training
  • Prepare training materials and evaluation tools for trainer sessions
  • Deliver two-day training-of-trainers sessions for UN personnel and implementing partners
  • Contextualise capacity-building materials for basic human needs programmes in Afghanistan
  • Evaluate training sessions and analyse participant feedback
  • Produce session reports with participation data, results and practical recommendations

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in gender studies or social sciences, or bachelor’s degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least seven years of gender-mainstreaming experience in development or humanitarian programmes
  • Experience at national and international levels in Afghanistan or a comparable context
  • Fluency in English
