Finance Assistant

Provides finance support for FAO Shared Services Centre transactions, controls and reporting, ensuring accurate processing, procedural compliance and responsive service to internal clients.

Department: Shared Services Centre

• Review source documents for completeness, accuracy and validity
• Extract and analyse transactions from the integrated financial system
• Investigate processing errors, take corrective action and ensure proper clearance procedures
• Support testing and implementation of financial process automation
• Monitor transactions and ensure required due diligence is performed
• Compile data and prepare worksheets, reports and correspondence
• Adapt financial support services to changing requirements and resolve operational issues
• Provide procedural guidance and training to finance support staff and internal clients

• Secondary school education
• Four years of relevant finance, accounting, cash management or asset management support experience
• Working knowledge at proficiency level C of English
• Hungarian nationality or an existing work permit and residence within commuting distance of the duty station
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and office technology
