Overview

Provides technical and strategic support to UNDP projects advancing environmental stewardship, territorial governance and sustainable livelihoods in Colombia, coordinating institutions, assessing risks, monitoring delivery and embedding human-rights, peacebuilding and inclusive approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Review the technical and programmatic design of assigned projects and recommend improvements
  • Support formulation, implementation and monitoring of environmental stewardship and territorial-governance activities
  • Prepare technical inputs, monitoring matrices, reports, presentations and decision materials
  • Coordinate public institutions, international partners, civil society, communities and territorial governments
  • Identify risks, institutional gaps and delivery bottlenecks and recommend mitigation
  • Facilitate technical forums and exchanges on territorial development, inclusion and environmental care
  • Document lessons, good practices and recommendations from implementation
  • Embed human-rights, differential, do-no-harm and peacebuilding approaches across project activities

Requirements

  • Professional specialisation in environmental, rural-development, public-policy, legal, economic, biological, geographic, social-science or international-relations fields relevant to the assignment
  • Minimum ten years of professional experience formulating, implementing, monitoring or evaluating environmental policy, programmes or projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing environmental and sustainable-development projects
  • Knowledge of ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, strategic ecosystems and sustainable territorial management
  • Experience developing or implementing environmental, rural or climate policy
  • Experience coordinating public institutions, international cooperation, communities, academia and territorial actors
  • Knowledge of project planning, monitoring, evaluation and results-based management
  • Fluency in Spanish

  • Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance: COP 8,515,500
  • Recurring field missions are required under UNDSS security protocols

  • Extension depends on funding, operational need and satisfactory performance, although renewal is not planned
