Overview

Supports PAHO’s health workforce capacity-building programme by planning and delivering training in maternal and neonatal care, sexual and reproductive health and intercultural practice, while monitoring participant learning and improving the quality of clinical training.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the capacity-building component and prepare an operational plan and training schedule
  • Coordinate training needs and activities with PAHO technical teams, health authorities, service networks and participating institutions
  • Organise and deliver training in obstetric emergencies, neonatal resuscitation, sexual and reproductive health and intercultural care
  • Facilitate in-person sessions, clinical simulations and participatory adult-learning activities
  • Provide technical assistance to health personnel and promote national protocols and guidelines
  • Prepare and distribute training materials and resolve technical implementation difficulties
  • Track participation, assessments and training indicators and analyse learning results
  • Produce technical progress reports and document lessons learned and good practices

Requirements

  • Medical degree
  • At least three years of experience in maternal health and sexual and reproductive health
  • Experience training health personnel in clinical courses, obstetric care, AIPEO, neonatal resuscitation or obstetric emergencies
  • Spanish is required
