Engineer (ICT Systems)

Designs, configures, administers and optimises NATO ICT systems, databases and network services for secure operational service delivery in Norfolk.

Department: NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA)

• Design, verify, document, amend and refactor complex software configurations for deployment
• Select software configuration methods, tools and techniques
• Monitor system software metrics and tune configurations for availability and performance
• Review system software updates and identify actions required
• Maintain network support processes and ensure requests follow agreed procedures
• Apply network configurations to meet operational requirements
• Undertake or supervise complex systems and component installations and de-installations
• Maintain and administer tools and methods for software delivery, deployment and configuration

• Bachelor's degree from a nationally recognised or certified university in a related discipline with two years of post-related experience
• Alternatively, at least six years of extensive and progressive relevant experience may compensate for lack of a university degree
• Extensive experience analysing, implementing and administering Functional Area Services, databases and other applications
• Subject-matter expert experience for Functional Area Services and NATO command and control systems
• Strong experience designing, installing, managing and administering enterprise Microsoft SQL environments and Oracle or other database solutions
• Solid understanding of enterprise IT services including DNS and Active Directory Federation Services
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as PowerShell, Python, Bash or JavaScript
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Appointment is subject to receipt of security clearance

• Five-year contract with competitive tax-free salary and allowances
• Monthly salary basis is USD 8,701.32
