Overview

Provides rapidly deployable field coordination support for UNICEF Viet Nam emergencies. The rostered UN Volunteer helps provincial preparedness, partner coordination, rapid assessments, field monitoring and operational follow-up, maintains emergency documentation and supports lessons learned and corrective-action tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Support provincial emergency preparedness and coordination with government and humanitarian partners
  • Collect and summarize field information for rapid needs and impact assessments
  • Monitor emergency implementation and follow up operational actions with UNICEF sections and partners
  • Maintain trackers, meeting notes and emergency documentation on knowledge platforms
  • Prepare field inputs for after-action reviews and preparedness assessments
  • Track review recommendations, implementation progress, gaps and evidence of completion
  • Identify recurring operational issues and suggest practical preparedness improvements
  • Travel rapidly to affected provinces when activated

Requirements

  • At least one year of relevant professional, volunteer, internship or project experience in emergency preparedness, disaster risk reduction, climate change, public policy, social development, programme coordination, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis or a related field
  • Good analytical ability to collect, organize and summarize quantitative and qualitative information
  • Strong coordination, communication, organization and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work in teams, take initiative, learn quickly and deliver under time pressure
  • Good Microsoft Office and artificial-intelligence skills
  • Fluency in English including comprehensive drafting ability
  • Ability to travel to affected provinces and deploy rapidly on short notice
