Job Description

Provides safe and reliable transport for IOM personnel and materials in Bangui. The driver maintains assigned vehicles, plans secure routes, keeps fuel and mileage records, supports airport and document deliveries and performs minor repairs and basic administrative tasks when needed.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Drive assigned IOM vehicles for authorised official journeys
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and arrange minor repairs and scheduled maintenance
  • Keep vehicles clean and maintain spare-parts inventories
  • Select safe and efficient routes and monitor security risks during travel
  • Complete daily logbooks and monthly mileage and fuel reports
  • Meet officials at airports and assist with immigration and customs formalities
  • Deliver mail, documents, diplomatic pouches and materials to authorised destinations
  • Support simple office administration when required

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a university degree
  • Valid national driving licence
  • Experience driving different types and models of vehicles
  • Knowledge of traffic laws, local roads and safe-driving practices
  • French proficiency in speaking and writing

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of IOM or United Nations procedures
  • Working knowledge of English and local languages
