Leads an integrated advocacy, policy, knowledge and communications workstream for UN-Habitat’s SDG localisation and multilevel-governance agenda. The coordinator aligns team delivery, shapes institutional narratives and policy products, engages governments and partners, and converts evidence into operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Align advocacy, communications and knowledge-management workplans across the team
  • Lead the integrated advocacy and strategic-engagement strategy for SDG localisation
  • Guide UN-Habitat positioning at major intergovernmental and urban-policy forums
  • Direct talking points, speeches, policy positions and background documents
  • Represent the team and cultivate partnerships with governments, networks and development organisations
  • Set the knowledge agenda and quality-assure policy papers, guidance notes and flagship reports
  • Convert operational evidence into policy sources, advocacy narratives and implementation support
  • Maintain a coherent narrative and feedback loop across knowledge, advocacy and communications

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in public affairs, political science, social sciences, urban studies, communications, development studies or a related area
  • At least five years of relevant experience in sustainable development, urban development, governance, public policy or international development
  • Expertise coordinating teams, leading advocacy and policy initiatives, conducting policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management and programme coordination
  • Experience preparing reports, briefings, concept notes and substantive policy documents
  • Experience organising events, workshops, consultations and multi-stakeholder processes
  • Experience supporting intergovernmental processes, policy dialogues and international forums
  • Fluent English
